What is a Hydraulic Accumulator?
An accumulator is designed to improve the function of hydraulic equipment. By storing pressure in a reservoir, the action of the hydraulics is smoothed out and made more efficient. Accumulators allow hydraulic systems to cope with high demand, respond to demand more quickly and smooth out pulsations during operation.

Under the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (2000), all hydraulic accumulators over a certain age must undergo periodic testing. LIJ can perform in-depth tests on your equipment and issue certification to recognise its safe working condition. A hydraulic bladder accumulator uses an elastic bladder to separate pressurised gas from hydraulic fluid, smoothing pressure spikes and preventing damage. A diaphragm accumulator has a flexible diaphragm serving as a separator, reducing system judder and improving control. The piston accumulator features a steel barrel with screwed end caps, is durable, and can be mounted in any position, providing flexible and reliable hydraulic system performance.
